PPL Electric Utility Rates Increase

PPL Electric Utilities’ rates will be increasing effective December 1, 2021. The increases to both residential and commercial customers behind PPL Electric Utilities is significant. Below are the prices to compare that will begin on December 1, 2021.

Effective December 1, 2021, the Prices to Compare (PTC)s behind PPL Electric Utilities Rates will be:

RESIDENTIAL – (RS) – Price to Compare (PTC) = 9.502¢/kWh, over 25% higher than the current 7.544¢/kWh

     COMMERCIAL – (GS1, GS3) – Price to Compare (PTC) = 10.285¢/kWh, over 36% higher than the current 7.541¢/kWh

Muirfield Energy has been advising consumers that the utilities were going to be increasing their prices to compare (PTC)s. It was just a matter of time as to when that would happen. Whether your electric supply is behind a regulated or deregulated utility, we are seeing prices increasing. If you are behind a deregulated utility, you need to weigh the risk of staying with the utility or consider supply pricing at this time. Also, if you are in a supply agreement, it would behoove you to consider renewal pricing at this time in order to mitigate your risk.
