Volunteer Energy Files For Bankruptcy

March 31, 2022

Good afternoon,

Volunteer Energy filed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy petition in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio on Friday, March 25, 2022, before Judge C. Kathryn Preston, case # 22-50804.

Unfortunately, Volunteer Energy customers are being sent back to the utility for a May 2022 flow start.

What should I do if I am a Volunteer Energy customer?

You need to sign a new natural gas and / or electricity supply agreement with a new supplier as soon as possible since the volatility in the energy market continues.

VESI Customers – If you are a VESI customer, you may need to sign a new supply agreement to avoid being forced back to the utility at their standard service rates for what can be up to 12 months.  In most cases, their rates are substantially above the current market rates.

     Can Muirfield Energy help me?

Yes, we have several Energy Consultants throughout the state of Ohio that can assist you with various suppliers, prices and terms to choose from for both natural gas and / or electricity.
No matter the amount of your usage, we will gladly assist you.
